Millwall vs Huddersfield Town preview - Tonge set for Lions bow

Millwall could hand a debut to new signing Michael Tonge for the visit of Huddersfield.

Midfielder Tonge joined the Lions on loan from Leeds on deadline day along with young goalkeeper Jordan Archer, who is set for a place on the bench after agreeing his temporary switch from Tottenham.

But another of manager Ian Holloway's eight new faces, winger Paris Cowan-Hall, faces an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a hairline fracture of the tibia and knee ligament damage on his debut against Reading.

Sid Nelson is suspended while fellow defender Carlos Edwards (knee) and midfielders Nicky Bailey (calf) and Lee Martin (rib) are injured.

Huddersfield are expected to include new signing Ishmael Miller in their squad, while fellow striker Nahki Wells (bruised foot) and goalkeeper Alex Smithies (illness) should be fit.

Midfielder Jonathan Hogg (thigh) will miss out again and defenders Tommy Smith and Joel Lynch are both out.

Smith was airlifted to hospital after being knocked out in last week's defeat to Leeds and although scans confirmed no lasting damage, the right-back will play no part this weekend.

Lynch (groin) has been ruled out for at least a fortnight after being forced off on Saturday so Murray Wallace could return, while Paul Dixon rejoined Dundee United this week after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
