Thomas banned for Magpies

Kwame Thomas is suspended for Notts County when Peterborough visit Meadow Lane.

Thomas was controversially sent off against Doncaster in midweek, receiving a second yellow card for time wasting when referee Richard Clark decided he was taking too long to be substituted. The incident saw Magpies manager Shaun Derry sent to the stands for protesting and it is not yet clear whether he will face any further action from the Football Association.

The on-loan Derby striker will serve a one-match ban on Saturday, while midfielder Liam Noble will complete his two-game suspension against Posh.

New signings Hayden White and Balint Bajner are in line to make their home debuts, having made their first appearances for the club at Doncaster. Billy Daniels, another recent arrival, could be handed his first start, replacing Thomas in the starting line-up.

Peterborough have no new problems and boss Darren Ferguson is planning to make changes.

Ferguson has plenty of options available to him with defender Shaun Brisley, midfielders Jermaine Anderson and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and strikers Luke James, Kyle Vassell and Aaron Mclean all coming into contention for starting places.

Gaby Zakuani is still away on international duty with DR Congo at the African Nations Cup while goalkeeper Ben Alnwick (thigh) and winger Jon Taylor (knee) remain injured. Defender Jack Baldwin is a long-term absentee with his knee problem.

Ferguson was given a touchline ban and fine by the Football Association this week after admitting a misconduct charge but the Posh boss may appeal against the decision and could be in the dugout on Saturday.
