Stirling Albion vs Stranraer preview - McLaren buoyant despite injuries

Recently-appointed Stirling manager Stuart McLaren will be without a trio of injured players as he looks to guide his side to victory against Stranraer.

Craig Comrie (stomach muscle), Lewis Coult (ankle) and Darren Lee Smith (knee) will all miss out.

McLaren said: "I'm happy with what I've seen in my two games in charge as we progressed in the Scottish Cup and despite losing to Brechin in the league we created chances.

"We face a big challenge to defeat a Stranraer side that have been very consistent recently both in terms of their line up and results.

"Their good run has to end sometime and hopefully that will be against us."

Stranraer will be without two injured defenders and two injured strikers as Craig Pettigrew, Craig Robertson and Adam Forde (all knee), plus Adam McCloskey (ankle) are still struggling.

The Blues have climbed the table into a play-off place in recent weeks and manager Stephen Aitken is determined his side does not let things slip against bottom-of-the-table Stirling.

Aitken said: "Stirling will have had a boost from a new manager going in and we need to guard against that.

"Playing away from home in this league is always tough so we need to show the form we're capable of to get the three points."
