Watford vs AFC Bournemouth preview - Hornets must cope without Deeney
Posted Friday, September 19, 2014 by PA
Watford will be without their skipper Troy Deeney when they host Bournemouth in the lunchtime kick-off.
Deeney, who has scored three goals this season, suffered a hamstring injury at Blackpool on Tuesday night and faces a few weeks on the sidelines.
He could be replaced by fellow striker Fernando Forestieri, who has made a timely recovery from the hamstring problem which has kept him out of the last two matches.
Gianni Munari (hamstring) and Bernard Mensah (knee) are also fit but Keith Andrews remains sidelined by a calf injury.
Bournemouth will wait on Dan Gosling before naming their squad to face the Hornets.
The former Everton man turned his ankle in training on Monday and is rated 50/50 to feature as the Cherries look to bounce back from their 3-1 home defeat to Leeds on Tuesday night.
Striker Tokelo Rantie looks set to miss out having not featured since picking up an injury on international duty with South Africa while Eddie Howe has a number of players pushing to start.
Marc Pugh, Charlie Daniels and Eunan O'Kane will all hope to earn recalls.
