Nottingham Forest vs Derby County preview - Forest in rude health

Stuart Pearce's Nottingham Forest squad is looking much more healthy ahead of the visit of rivals Derby.

The Reds' early-season injury problems have pretty much cleared up. Henri Lansbury and Jamaal Lascelles made their return from knee injuries at Huddersfield in the Capital One Cup prior to the international break, while the two-week lay-off has seen David Vaughan (hamstring) and Kelvin Wilson (calf) step up their recoveries and they will hope to be involved on Sunday.

Lascelles also came on as a second-half substitute against Sheffield Wednesday and the centre-half could now be putting pressure on Jack Hobbs' place in the team.

Matty Fryatt will also be hoping for a recall after he was dropped to the bench for the 1-0 win at Hillsborough as Pearce opted for five in midfield and Britt Assombalonga as a lone striker against the Owls.

Derby are waiting to see if Jamie Ward will be fit.

The forward suffered a hamstring injury last weekend while on international duty with Northern Ireland and the Rams are awaiting the results of a scan.

Jake Buxton has handed head coach Steve McClaren a boost ahead of the clash. The central defender was troubled by a hip-flexor problem during the opening month of the season, but the two-week international break has seen the injury improve and Buxton looks likely to start after resuming full training.

With Jeff Hendrick out for around another four weeks after dislocating a shoulder against Ipswich, Will Hughes is likely to be recalled in midfield.
