Carlisle vs Bury preview - Double boost for Cumbrians

Carlisle could be boosted by the return of Billy Paynter and Troy Archibald-Henville for the home game against Bury.

Striker Paynter missed last week's 4-4 home draw with AFC Wimbledon due to a hamstring problem, while defender Archibald-Henville hopes to make his first appearance of the season following suspension and a shin injury.

Midfielder Gary Dicker sits out a one-game ban following the club's unsuccessful appeal against his straight red card for handball last Saturday.

Winger Danny Kearns remains sidelined due to a thigh injury as the Cumbrians chase their first league win of the season.

Bury will have skipper Jim McNulty back from a one-game suspension for the trip.

The centre-back sat out the 0-0 draw with Wycombe but will hope to win back his place alongside Pablo Mills at the heart of the Shakers' defence.

Strike pair Daniel Nardiello (groin) and Clive Platt (calf) could also return to David Flitcroft's squad to provide competition for Danny Rose and Ryan Lowe.

Keil O'Brien went for an operation on a knee injury on Wednesday and the defender could be out for as long as two months, while winger Joe Thompson (back) is still not quite ready to return.
