He is only 22 years old, but the Barca star already has a biography in the bookshops. In his book 'O Rei Neymar, el ultimo poeta del balon', journalist Luca Caioli reveals anecdotes about the Brazilian star.
Amongst them, how he spent three weeks in Madrid back in 2006. In the end, he did not sign for 'Los Blancos', although it is not known for sure whether it was the €60,000 his father wanted for him, which a club board member refused to pay, or that he was homesick. Chelsea also missed out on signing him, and he ended up staying at Santos with a significant pay rise.
The book informs us that that he is the fifth highest-paid player in the world, despite his young age, and looks back at his departure from Santos after notching up some unbelievable statistics - 138 goals and six titles.
Luca Caioli also picked up opinions and anecdotes about Neymar from some of football's biggest names, whilst the man who discovered him, his first coaches, teammates... Del Bosque, Scolari and Robinho, among others, all talk about the Barca star.
