Martino:

Gerardo 'Tata' Martino has explained that Leo Messi's absence from Sunday's game at Malaga "is more to do with being cautious than anything else". He also took the chance to speak about the potential signing of Gareth Bale by Real Madrid: "The numbers of the Bale deal seem to me to be a lack of respect in general for the rest of world".

"Bale is a good player, how they work out how to use him in their side is up to them", he added about the imminent arrival of the Welsh player, before taking up most of his press conference to explain Messi's absence: "Leo has been getting steadily better since the Atlético game. He is feeling better every day and we are very optimistic; it is still only three days from when it happened last Wednesday and with the season only just beginning it is not necessary to take any risks, but from what we see in training we are optimistic".

"I am not worried about Messi because he looks good, he has worked well during his holidays from the first day and he came back very fit. What happened the other day was just one of those things. You have to look at each risk and at the moment I don't think it is necessary to take one".

On Neymar he said: "We see him getting better and better, not just due to the goal of the other day. As the days go by so do the training sessions and he is getting to know his team mates and the club better. Between what we said about him at the beginning of the season and today only a week more has passed. I don't think it is necessary to go any faster, we have to bring him along little by little so that when he is ready to come in it is for good".
