Gag ruling ... Judge Tugendhat
He said: "Anonymity no longer applies." Giggs' QC Hugh Tomlinson said: "He has consented to the removal of the order completely."
Giggs settled his case against Imogen in December, accepting she did not try to blackmail him with claims of a fling.
The judge is now considering whether Giggs is entitled to damages from The Sun for distress and a breach of privacy.
Giggs also wants a permanent injunction banning future publication of private information.
The Sun's QC Richard Spearman said the case was "dead in the water".
He added legal action had been "spun along for a long time".
