Ayr on the rise

Ayr moved into fourth place with a 2-0 win over Stenhousemuir at Somerset Park.
The Honest Men started strongly with Alan Trouten and William Easton each going close early on before the home team took a deserved lead on the stroke of half-time.
Scott McLaughlin's volley from the edge of the box rebounded off the post but Ryan McCann was on hand to tap home the rebound from close range.
Stenhousemuir had chances to level the scores but Iain Thomson wasted his team's best chance in the 66th minute when he volleyed wide from only six yards out.
Daniel McKay wrapped up the points for Ayr in the 87th minute, firing into the roof of the net from 18 yards.
