Chelsea Want Toni Kroos As Frank Lampard Replacement

English Premier League champions Chelsea are considering a bid for Bayern Munich playmaker Toni Kroos in the coming months, according to a report from People. The 20-year-old attacker, who came to prominence while on loan at Bayer Leverkusen last season, is not guaranteed a starting role in Munich and may be tempted to move abroad.
Chelsea allegedly consider Kroos a suitable long-term replacement for Frank Lampard, who at 32 years of age is not getting any younger. According to the report, Chelsea have been watching Kroos for four years.
Kroos, who was a phenomenon at under-17 level, has struggled at Bayern since joining the Rekordmeister from Hansa Rostock in 2006. Following a breakthrough season at Leverkusen, in which he recorded 18 scorer's points, the gifted playmaker returned to Munich, where he faces a somewhat uncertain future.
