Dundee welcome back striker Mickael Antoine-Curier from compassionate leave for the visit of Queen of the South.
On-loan former Doonhamer Jamie Adams is absent because of suspension and defensive summer signing Dominic Shimmin remains out through injury.
Boss Gordon Chisholm is looking forward to seeing pacy frontman Antoine-Curier in action, saying: "Mickael returned to training on Thursday and it is good to have him available to the squad.
"We are still a couple of bodies light and I am working on that every day just now."
The Dens Park boss added: "This will be a hard game against a team that I know and respect well and who will be out to win here."
Queen of the South boss Kenny Brannigan is looking to bolster his squad as he travels north without four players.
Winger Willie McLaren is suspended and injuries have ruled out defender Derek Lilley and front men Allan Johnstone and Sean O'Connor.
Goalkeeper David Hutton is available after injury with Brannigan saying: "I am looking to get a new signing on board as we are down to only nine fit outfield players."
