Reaction from Cristiano Ronaldo after the Real Madrid and Portugal star won the UEFA Player of the Year award in Monaco on Thursday (25th August).

Cristiano Ronaldo was named the UEFA Player of the Year in Monaco on Thursday. The Real Madrid forward beat team-mate Gareth Bale and France striker Antoine Griezmann to the award.

Speaking after the ceremony Ronaldo thanked his teammates, and said he hopes to win the Ballon d'Or this year.

Ronaldo won both the Champions League and European Championships last season, not a bad way to the end the campaign.
