  • Marin Cilic won his first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title as he beat Andy Murray 6-4, 7-5 in the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati on Sunday (21st August).

Andy Murray faced Marin Cilic in the final of the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati on Sunday (21st August).

This was Murray's fourteenth game in 15 days following his Olympic gold medal success in Rio, however, he looked fresh early on.

But Cilic soon took control and raced ahead, eventually taking the opener 6-4.

And Cilic stayed on top in the second set, dominating with his serve.

The Croatian eventually closed out the match to take a straight sets win over Murray.

Not a bad way for Cilic to mark his first appearance in an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 final.
