A Donald Trump venue has been axed in favour of Mexico golf course much to the delight of Bernardo Villacecias, agent for Grupo Salinas.

"Fortunately (Donald) Trump's comments came our way and we applaud everything he has to say because it will bring Mexico higher in the eyes of the world. It will be a (great) event, without doubt, and the responsibility is the head team's (Grupo Salinas). I am here talking now, but we have had three years fighting for this. And at the moment we received the call from Gerald saying 'guys it's yours,' we didn't believe it, and now we see the contract and we applaud it."

"Our telecast from this golf tournament here goes to over one billion homes, over 225 countries, in 32 languages, so to say the world is going to be watching us - yes they are. And we are going to showcase this beautiful golf course that you have here, and we so appreciate you letting us be here.
