  • Returning Japanese Olympic swimmers received a warm welcome in Tokyo on Wednesday (17th August).

Japan's Olympic swimming team returned on Wednesday after claiming seven medals in total.

The three medallists who arrived on an earlier flight were Kosuke Hagino, silver medallist Masato Sakai and bronze medallist Natsumi Hoshi.

Hagino wore three medals around his neck - gold in the 400-metre individual medley, silver for 200-metre individual medley and a bronze in 4 x 200-metre freestyle relay.

Rie Kaneto, who claimed gold in the 200-metre breaststroke, has announced that she has no intentions to compete in the Tokyo 2020 Games, but aims to break the world record at the world championships in December this year.
