Russia's Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina have won the Olympic tennis gold medal in women's doubles and were received with big applause at the Russian Fans House located right at the famous Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro.

"We I just realised that what I did with Katerina. On the court it was just pure joy and happiness about winning this gold medal for our country. We were going through a lot of tough moments in our career with Katerina, injuries, you know. We made it. It's such a relief, joy and happiness, we just really really happy that we won it."
