  • Oscar Pistorius was treated for minor wrist injuries at a hospital and has been returned to a South African jail where the Paralympian is serving a six-year sentence for killing girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, prison officials said on Sunday (7th August).

Oscar Pistorius has denied claims he attempted to take his own life whilst in prison in South Africa.

The former Paralympian was taken to hospital on Sunday, where he received treatment for an injury to his wrist.

Pistorius has since been returned to a South African jail where he is serving a six-year sentence for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

Last month, South African prosecutors said they would appeal against Pistorius' six-year jail sentence, saying it was too lenient.

Prison officials say an investigation into Pistorius' injury is underway.
