  • Jamaican icon sprinter Usain Bolt arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday

The Jamaican superstar athlete Usain Bolt arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday night for the Olympics, in which he is likely to be the star attraction.

The Olympic runnerpaused for a few moments in the arrivals terminal at Rio's international airport and was left somewhat bemused as he tried to locate the exit, accompanied by Olympic officials.

Bolt has six Olympic gold medals from the Beijing and London Olympics. The world record holder in the 100- and 200- metres sprint proved his fitness in
the 200 at the London Anniversary Games on July 22, declaring himself fully fit for the defence of his Olympic titles in Brazil.

The 29-year-old Jamaican is targeting what would be an unprecedented 'triple-triple’.

Earlier more delegations arrived at the airport in Brazil, including the Chinese-Taipei delegation and more athletes from Australia.
