Ali fans mourn in Manilla

  • People gathered in Manila on Friday (10th June) to remember Muhammad Ali and his legendary fight in the Philippine capital.

    Fans of Muhammad Ali gathered at the Ali Mall in manila on Friday (10th June) to pay homage to the late boxing legend.

    Manilla was the setting for one of Ali's most famous fights against Joe Frazier.

    The so called 'Thrilla in Manila' took place in 1975 and was a bruising encounter. Ali eventually overcame Frazier in one of his most Iconic moments

    The Ali Mall, named in the boxer’s honour, has put on an exhibition to allow fans to mourn his passing.

    Ali died last Friday (3rd June) aged 74 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

    His funeral also takes place on Friday in Louisville, Kentucky.
