Lebron and Cavs pleased following blowout win

  • Post-game reaction after the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Toronto Raptors 115-84 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday (17 May) in Ohio.

SOUNDBITE (English): Tyronn Lue, Cleveland Cavaliers Head Coach

(On LeBron James and Kyrie Irving playing aggressively)

"I'm always on Kyrie (Irving) about staying aggressive, being aggressive because guys can't guard him one-on-one. So especially in transition, if we can get out fast and get out early to him, he can attack early to the basket and LeBron (James) the same way. They feed off each other. One guy gets tired, the other guys steps up, and it's great to have a guy on your team where you can look to the other guy or look to Kevin (Love) and just kind of get your breath, catch your wind and slow the game down. So it was perfect for us tonight."

SOUNDBITE (English): Dwane Casey, Toronto Raptors Head Coach

    (On Kyle Lowry missing shots)

"I thought they were the fresher team, the quicker team tonight. Again, that's to their credit, and again, it's one game. This series is not over by any means. We have another game in another night. Again, the score is embarrassing, but again, it's just one game."

SOUNDBITE (English): LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers Forward

    (On play of Kyrie Irving)

"The Kyrie (Irving) that I see on a daily basis when you guys are not around is the Kyrie (Irving) that I envisioned. He's grown every single day, every single week, month, and over the course of these last two years or year-plus, becoming a leader and becoming a staple of our team."
