Wow! Reaction to 17-point overtime by Steph Curry

Wednesday, May 11 2016 by SNTV
  • Stephen Curry and Steve Kerr reflect on the Golden State Warriors' 132-125 win over the Portland Trailblazers on Monday (9th May) as Curry registered 17 points in overtime - a new NBA record - as the Warriors lead the Western Conference semi-final series 3-1.

SOUNDBITE (English) Steph Curry, Golden State Warriors:

"I was a little, obviously, anxious to get back on the floor. It's a different situation coming off the bench. I had to get my body loose and my mind in the game, get in a rhythm. Took me a while to get into the flow. When you miss three weeks it's really weird walking back on the court like with the crowd out there going crazy and the competitive atmosphere again so I was just trying to get my bearings straight and try to make some plays and get into a rhythm. It took 48 minutes and things finally clicked."

SOUNDBITE (English) Steve Kerr, Golden State Warriors coach:

"The guy (Steph Curry) has played one basketball game in three weeks. I expected what I saw early. I expected a lot of rust. I don't think anybody could have predicted the explosion. I figured he would find his stroke and make a few shots - but I mean that was crazy."

SOUNDBITE (English) Steph Curry, Golden State Warriors:

"I love this game, I love playing, I love competing and I really, really missed being out there with my team-mates and to help get our team a win tonight in that kind of fashion. That was a good feeling to be back on the floor and to be playing."
