Brady suspension reinstated

Tuesday, April 26 2016 by SNTV
  • New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had his four-game suspension over the 'Deflategate' scandal reinstated by a federal appeals court on Monday (25th April).

A federal appeals court in New York has ruled that Tom Brady must serve the four-game suspension originally handed down by the NFL as punishment for his part in the 'Deflategate' scandal.

The New England Patriots were suspected of deflating balls for an AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Brady's ban was overturned last September by a federal judge, who cited 'legal deficiencies' in the NFL's original ruling, thus allowing Brady to play for the duration of the 2015 season.

However, Monday's verdict means four-time Super Bowl winner Brady will miss the first four games of the 2016 season, which begins in September.
