Raptors practice at the O2

Thursday, January 14 2016 by SNTV
  • The Toronto Raptors practiced and their players talked at London's O2 Arena before an NBA Global Games clash against the Orlando Magic.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Dwane Casey, Toronto Raptors Coach (on the Orlando Magic threat):

"It's hard to pick one, (Nikola) Vucevic inside, all the deep posts are playing well. (Tobias) Harris has given us trouble in the past with his athleticism at the three or at the four. Evan Fournier shot the ball well against us at their place when they beat us. They have a lot of weapons, they play hard, they're a defensively-minded team, they have a lot of force on both ends of the floor."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Kyle Lowry, Toronto Raptors (on entertaining the fans):

"It's a game for us, as long as the fans enjoy it that's all that matters. We are going to go out there and compete and give it our all. Both teams are going to try to get the win because it's an important game for both teams and what we're trying to do for our seasons. It's going to be a good game and as long as we entertain the fans, that's all that matters."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Lucas Nogueira, Toronto Raptors (on having friends in London):

"I have a lot of friends here and I'm so glad to be here. I think it's a great experience to play here because I have a lot of friends here."

SOUNDBITE: (English) DeMar DeRozan, Toronto Raptors (on playing in London):

"It's definitely amazing, just to understand the culture, how much they are into the game of basketball and to come over here to represent the game the best way we can is amazing.

SOUNDBITE: (English) DeMar DeRozan, Toronto Raptors (on redeeming themselves after their last visit):

"Yeah most definitely, we've come out here to redeem ourselves, leave London soil with a win."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Luis Scola, Toronto Raptors (on expanding the NBA):

"I think this has to be done, we have to do these things, the game has to grow in the way the NBA want us to grow. There is not going to be a good timing for it, you can put it early, late, in the middle (of the season) - it's just not going to be a perfect time. We just have to do it because it needs to be done."
