  • SuggestedLeadIn: The USA seal their first FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup in 30 years - as well as a place at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games - with a 3-1 victory over Argentina in Tokyo, Japan. Italy reached the Olympics with a 3-1 win over Poland a result which also kept alive their hopes of winning the tournament. Iran beat Egypt, Russia beat hosts Japan and USA.

Script: Unbeaten Poland came into their contest with Italy knowing another victory would see them lift the FIBV World Cup and with it a place in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, but that was dashed by a determined Italian side.

The 3-1 (26-24, 22-25, 25-22, 25-19) win for Italy on the final day of the World Cup saw them earn a spot in Rio to the delight of their players.

Iran captured a straight sets win over Egypt.

Seyed Mohammad Mousavi Eraghi led by his post at the middle with 12 points to emerge as the MVP (Most Impressive Player).

Russia took on host nation Japan in front of a fiercely partisan home crowd with an ace on match point meaning they edged a close contest.

And the United States started strongly in their match against Argentina but pulled clear of their opponents - Maxwell Holt with the honour of spiking home championship point.

The victory is America's first in 30 years at this tournament.
