Australia's Artacho del Solar and Nicole Laird won the first set but the Americans turned it around and sit top of Pool C.

There was also a comeback win for the USA in the men's Pool K Jacob Gibb and Casey Patterson lost the first set against Pablo Bianchi and Julian Amado Azaad of Argentina. But the Americans hit back to take the next 21-15 and the decider 15-9.

They are now top of the Pool, in second place are Francisco Marco and Christian Garcia of Spain, they stunned the Brazilian pair of Alvaro Morais Filho and Vitor Felipe. This one was so tight but at 14-13 in the decider the Spaniards took their match point.

There would be a Brazilian win later in the day though, Alison Cerruti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt beat Clemens Doppler and Alexander Horst of Austria in straight sets, they sit top of Pool C.
