The world's best snowboarders competed in the European Open in Switzerland this weekend, in the men's half-pipe final Olympic champion Iouri Podladtchikov was taking part just a month after recovering from an ankle fracture. He was hardly rusty on this run though, he scored 90.25 to finish ahead of Japan's Ayumu Hirano. You get the feeling he knew it went well.

It was a two-way battle between two Americans for the women's title, Kelly Clark responded to her defeat by 14-year-old Chloe Kim at the X-Games by winning here, she scored 85.24 to Kim's 84.62.

In the women's slopestyle event New Zealand's Christy Prior dominated with a score of 84 to take gold, her nearest challenger was X Games champion Jamie Anderson who was over five points back.

Revenge was on the agenda for the men's title Norway's Stale Sandbech lost out in the X Games by just one point to Canada's Mark McMorris but the Scandinavian hit back here. The 21-year-old scored 91.40 to easily claim victory, his first ever European podium finish is unlikely to be his last.
