    Germany won the men's team ski jumping event at Klingenthal in Germany on Saturday

    The four-man German team combined to guide to Germany to a home victory in the men's team ski jumping event at Klingenthal on Saturday.

    Their only real contenders were Japan who even had the halfway lead thanks to Takeuchi

    The margin over Germany though was only 0.4 points.

    Only the top eight contested the next phase and by the seventh round Germany were in an almost unassailable lead which left Freund to avoid a mistake in
    the final round to clinch victory.

    Germany finished with 1,098.0 points with Japan in second place on 1,068.9.

    Norway completed the podium.

    Finland came fourth with Slovenia in fifth place
