    Wins for Dominican Republic, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Brazil, Serbia, USA, Russia, Netherlands, China, Japan and Puerto Rico on second day of FIVB women's volleyball World Championship on Wednesday (24th September) in Italy.

    Script:

    The first round of the FIVB Women's World Championship continued in Italy with the second day of action.

    In Pool A the Dominican Republic secured a straight-sets win over Tunisia, 25-14, 25-19, 25-10. It was their second win in as many games.

    Germany claimed their first win of the tournament with a win over Argentina, enough to move them into third on four points.

    Hosts Italy made it two straight sets wins in a row by beating Croatia to move onto six points.

    Turkey claimed their first points of the campaign in Pool B with a straight-sets win over Canada.

    Brazil despatched Cameroon 25-14, 25-15, 25-18.

    Serbia defeated Bulgaria and stay second with two wins from two.

    In Pool C, the USA recorded a straight-sets win over Kazakhstan.

    Russia and the Netherlands both have perfect 2-0 records after the wins, and have not dropped a set, with Russia leading the group on points ratio.

    In Pool D China beat Azerbaijan to maintain their 100 per cent start to the tournament.

    Japan dropped a set en route to beating Belgium but climbed above their opponents into second place with four points.

    Finally, Puerto Rico beat bottom side Cuba 25-22, 27-25, 25-19 to move up to fourth on three points.
