Sandra Auffarth topped the individual eventing podium at the World Equestrian Games after Sunday's (August 31st) jumping and also helped Germany claim gold in the team category.

The World Equestrian Games continued in Normandy, France on Sunday with the third and final part of the eventing competition - show jumping.

William Fox-Pitt, aboard Chilli Morning, knocked over the blue and white oxer at fence two and that proved costly - a four-point penalty for dislodging an obstacle.

Briton Fox-Pitt, a silver medallist in this event four years ago, ended up with bronze this time around, recording a combined score of 54.3 points.

Silver went to reigning world champion Michael Jung of Germany and his mount Fischerrocana after a clear round over the 12-obstacle course.

Finishing on 52.3 points, Jung was pipped to the gold medal by team-mate Sandra Auffarth.

An individual silver medallist at the 2011 European Championships, Auffarth - aboard Opgun Louvo - also achieved a clean round and finished with a winning score of 52.0 points.

The performances of Auffarth and Jung also saw Germany claim gold in the team category, with Fox-Pitt and his British team-mates taking silver, while the quartet from the Netherlands finished with bronze.
