The semi-finals of the Transavia Grand Slam Beach Volleyball began in The Hague in Holland on Saturday.

In the men's draw, Grzegorz Fijalek and Mariusz Prudel of Poland defeated Brazlilian duo Emanuel Rego and Pedro Salgado in straight sets.

Fijalek and Prudel took the first set 24-22.

The pair have been playing together for six years and they put their team chemistry to good use by winning the second 23-21.

Waiting for them in Sunday's final are Americans Sean Rosenthal and Phil Dalhausser.

Brazilians are renowned for their beach football skills but Alison Cerutti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt were upstaged in the opening set, which they lost 17-21.

The American world number ones followed that up by claiming the second 30-32 to keep their title hopes alive.
