The Beach Volleyball World Tour final saw a first on Sunday.

It was the first time that two German teams had met in a World Tour final and Semmler and Holtwick took a tight opening set.

The second was more one sided as the pair won in straight sets winning 24-22, 21-16.

In total they have won one World Tour gold, three silvers and five bronze medals since they first teamed up in 2006.

American duo Phil Dalhausser and Sean Rosenthal were looking for their second consecutive Beach Volleyball gold medal when they took on Alison Cerutti and Bruno Schmidt of Brazil.

The Americans continued their strong form in the Swiss Alps when they defeated the Brazilians 2-0 (21-17, 21-17).

For 2008 Olympic champion Dalhausser it is another medal to add to his collection from the Swiss Alps.
