    China's badminton superstar, Lin Dan, won his first Superseries title in 27 months when he triumphed at the Australian Open on Sunday (June 29).

    It was the 12th head-to-head encounter between Lin Dan and Simon Santoso in the men's singles final of the Australian Open at Sydney Olympic Park on Sunday.

    Santoso, the Singapore Open winner, won the opening game, but the 31-year-old badminton legend came back to win the next two to collect the the trophy after 75 minutes on court. winning 22-24, 21-16, 21-7.

    In the women's singles, Saina Nehwal of India won her second title of the year by beating world number 11 Carolina Marin of Spain 21-18, 21-11.

    The best combination in men's doubles at present are the South Korean pair of Lee Yong Dae and Yoo Yeong Seong, who won their third consecutive Superseries title in three weeks.

    They beat the third-seeded Lee Sheng Mu and Tsai Chia Hsin of Chinese Taipei in two games, 21-14, 21-18.
