  • Intro:

In Leicester in Wednesday (24th June), captain MS Dhoni looked ahead to India's first five-Test series in England for half a century with Dhoni offering some advice to the English.

    Script:

MS Dhoni, India captain: (On whether it's a good time to play England).

"Oh no, not really, because you know, even the last time when I was here, I told you it's not about what has happened in the past, so it's not really about what has happened in the last series for them (England), what you assess is how good a side the opposition is and I still think that England are a fantastic side, which means, you know, it will be tough competition for us. They know their home conditions better than us, so it's a long series, five Test matches, five ODIs and one T20, so it's a long time since we have played a series of five Tests matches, it's something that is entirely new for us, but overall, I think it will be really good."

MS Dhoni, India captain: (On captaincy)

"Being the leader, I think one of the most crucial things is you know, when you are not doing so well, you try to maintain the dressing room atmosphere, which really helps the individuals to perform, because that's the toughest period in cricket, when the team is not doing well. When people start questioning their own ability, I think that's the face of... that most captains have to go through, but overall, if I have to say in a small statement what really works, I think keeping it simple really works."
