Marin Cilic of Croatia defeated hometown favourite Igor Sijsling 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 to set up a final against Tomas Berdych in the ABN AMRO tournament in Rotterdam.

    Script:

Semi finals day at the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam and third seed Tomas Berdych moved a step closer to winning his first ATP World Tour tittle since October 2012. He had a straightforward victory over Ernests Gulbis.

Berdych hadn't lost a set all week and he took just 29 minutes to continue that record with a 6-3 first set win. Gulbis had knocked out top seed and defending champion Juan Martin del Potro, but he couldn't cope with the Czech's huge serve and powerful forehand as he lost the second six games to three.

And Berdych will play Marin Cilic for the title after he knocked out home favourite Igor Sijsling in a close encounter. The Dutchman has been in great from all tournament and he thrilled the crowd he this one-handed backhand, on his way to the first set. But Sijsling failed to capitalise on his only break point in the second set and Cilic began to dominate the rallies.

Cilic took the second set 6-3 and with errors creeping into Sijsling's game, he served out the match in style to win the third 6-2.

Cilic has lost four of his six games against Berdych, he will be hoping to improve on that stat in the final.
