Ivanovic beaten in Australian Open quarter-finals

    Teenager Eugenie Bouchard has reached the semi-finals in her first trip to the Australian Open, beating 2008 French Open champion Ana Ivanovic 5-7, 7-5, 6-2 on Tuesday (January 21st) to set up a showdown with fourth-seeded Li Na.

    Teenager Eugenie Bouchard is through to the semi-finals of the Australian Open after defeating Ana Ivanovic.

    It was the Serbian who took the opener, but Bouchard, whose making her first appearance in Melbourne, broke decisively in the second set.

    Ivanovic had shocked Serena Williams in the last 16, but a double fault from the 14th seed meant this contest would go to three sets.

    And Bouchard went on to become the first Canadian to reach the semi-finals of the Australian Open, sealing her 5-7, 7-5, 6-2 victory courtesy of a forehand winner.

    Awaiting Bouchard in the semis is China's Li Na.
