There were few issues for Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Maria Sharapova as they all secured straght sets wins to go through to round four of the Australian Open.

    Script:

Finally an end to the unrelenting heat in Melbourne on day six of the Australian Open, not that 17-time grand slam champion Roger Federer was in a forgiving mood in his contest with Teymuraz Gabashvili.

An easy three-set win - Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or Gilles Simon await in round four.

Fourth seed Andy Murray will face the winner of that tie if he overcomes Stephane Robert.

Similarly simple progress for the reigning Wimbledon champion came at the expense of Felciano Lopez.

Rising star Grigor Dimitrov joins that duo in the last 16 for thefrst time at a grand slam.

The 22nd seed causing a minor shock by defeating 11th Milos Raonic, and goes onto face Roberto Bautista-Agut.

Things were fairly straightforward four-time grand slam winner Maria Sharapova against Alize Cornet in the women's draw.

No signs of fatigue for her after 10-8 third set victory over Karin Knapp in the last round - 6-1 7-6 the score as the third seed lined up a meeting with Dominika Cibulkova.

And fifth seed Agnieska Radwanska joins her after coming from behind against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

Looking for her first slam title, she sets up a clash with Garbine Muguruza, who shocked former world number one Caroline Wozniacki.
