  • Intro:

Sebastien Ogier takes the lead on day two in Monte Carlo on Friday while Robert Kubica crashes out after a promising start.

    Script:

All eyes were on Robert Kubica ahead of the second day of the Monte Carlo Rally,

The former Formula 1 driver was making his debut in the sport and had an excellent start but his participation came to a premature end late on day two.

Not a great day for Jari-Matti Latvala either. He had a frustrating tyre puncture on the same stage as Kubica.

Elfyn Evans took his chance and went ahead of the pair.

But Latvala was soon back on his way and it was his turn to chase his competitor down.

Evans eventually conceded a place to his experienced opponent.

Andreas Mikkelsen had spectators to thank for still being in the race! He had moved up into sixth place following his team-mate Latvala's delay, but the Norwegian suffered his own difficulties soon after and had the fans to thank for helping him out.

It looked like Bryan Bouffier would take the race with a 30 second advantage over the rest, but World champion Sebastien Ogier chased him down and slipped by with ease for a time of almost 20 seconds ahead of the field to storm into the lead and take the win.
