Round five of the bobsleigh skeleton World Cup took place on Friday, with many keen to impress ahead of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

Matt Antoine of the USA clocked an early time of two minutes, 19.87 seconds was 0.11 seconds faster than previous leader Alexander Tretiakov of Russia giving the American the overall lead.

However Latvian Martins Dukurs then recorded a time two minutes, 19.18 seconds, 0.69 seconds faster than Antoine.

So the pressure was on elder brother Tomass Dukurs, but his overall time of 2:19.44 was 0.26 slower than his sibling.

It was Martins' third win in five races this season - as he leapfrogged Tretiakov for the overall World Cup points lead on 1045 points, just eight in front of the Russian.

The bobsleigh event is certainly shaping up to be an exciting feature at the Sochi Olympic Games.
