The third World Cup event of the season took place at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary on Friday.

Great Britain's Rowan Cheshire became the first ever Briton to win a halfpipe event.

The 18-year-old scored 80.40 in her first run, to finish ahead of last year's overall halfpipe winner and current world champion Virginie Faivre of Switzerland.

Australian Amy Sheehan completed the podium.

Chesire described victory as a "dream come true"......

"Amazing, it's my first ever podium in the World Cup's, this is what I've been working up towards and everything, so it's really like a dream come true for me really. It's like one place closer to Sochi as well, so I'm so happy, I can't really find the words to explain, but I'm really happy."

The ski halfpipe will be part of next month's Winter Olympic Games for the first time and Justin Dorey appears to be one to watch in the men's halfpipe as he continued his good form.

Dorey executed one of the only 1260 flips of the day, followed by another impressive move on his run for 87.20 points.

Dorey led a Canadian 1-2-3 as he finished ahead of Noah Bowman and Matt Margetts.
