SOUNDBITE: (English) Carlos Beltran, St. Louis Cardinals Outfielder: "Clayton Kershaw, one of the best pitchers in the game, you know, no doubt about that. Today we were looking just to put good at-bats. I think the first time that we faced him, he was very tough, he was locating well. This time he was a little bit off, but that doesn't mean anything. He's still a competitor and you know I guess we fought. We put ourselves in hitter's counts, we were able to come through as a team. So every time you're capable of doing that early in the games, you cannot waste those opportunities."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Mike Matheny, St. Louis Cardinals Manager: "I think we've been fortunate to be in an organisation that winning is a tradition, winning is an expectation. We start talking early on about the history and the championships, the great players who have been through here and people who have made their mark on this organisation and in the game. So we take a lot of pride in trying to carry ourselves like a championship club, but there is a whole lot that's in our way. There's been a lot of good teams, look at the team that we beat in Pittsburgh, what a great club and the same thing here with LA, so talented. Then the kind of pitcher that we were able to beat tonight, it's just impressive. These guys have been training themselves, I think, in the expectation that we need to put together a season that's representative of what this club stands for."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Don Mattingly, Los Angeles Dodgers Manager: "Let me start. I just want to congratulate the Cardinals, their organisation, their ball club. We felt like they were better than us this series. But they, obviously, are a tremendous club and they'll be a great representative in the World Series for the National League."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Don Mattingly, Los Angeles Dodgers Manager: "Obviously, I'm really proud of my club. I felt like these guys hung in all year long. They were a great group to be around. I felt like these guys have a lot of fun, but they do get down to business, sometimes a little bit unconventional, but they do love to play, and I think they represent the Dodger organisation well. So (I'm) proud of my club."
