VakifBank Istanbul secured top spot in Pool B with a four set victory over Brazilian side Unilever Volei in their Pool B encounter at the Women's Club World Championship on Friday (11th October).

    Script:

Both VakifBank Istanbul and Unilever Volei have already won their opening matches in the Women's Club World Championship. This encounter on Friday decides who finishes top of Pool B.

It was the Turkish team who dominated from the start, building a healthy advantage before taking the first set 25-20.

The second set followed a similar pattern, with Istanbul showing off some subtle touches on their way to winning the second set 25-18.

But Unilever Volei regrouped and battled back to take the third set 25-21. New life was breathed into a match that was seemingly heading towards the European champions.

But the task facing the Brazilians was taller than the Corcovado Mountain and Istanbul sealed the match by winning the fourth set 25-18.

The Turks will now take on Guangdong Evergrande of China in the semi finals, whilst Unilever Volei will face Volero Zurich.
