Richard Gasquet battled back from losing the opening set to beat Albert Ramos 2-6, 7-6 (1), 7-5 in the Estoril Open in Portugal on Saturday (May 5th).

Second seed Richard Gasquet took on Spaniard Albert Ramos in the first semi-final of the Estoril Open on Saturday.

Gasquet made a sluggish start to the match and handed Ramos the initiative immediately when he was broken in his opening service game.

The Spaniard went on to take the first set 6-2 in commanding fashion.

The second set was a tighter affair, and went the distance.

It was in the tie-breaker that Gasquet found his range, surging into a 6-0 lead and eventually winning 7-1 with a blistering forehand down the line.

One break of serve in the third was all it needed to leave the Frenchman serving for the match.

He duly took it 2-6, 7-6 (1), 7-5 as Ramos put a backhand wide.

Gasquet will face either Juan Martin del Potro or Stanislaw Wawrinka in the final.
