The semi-finals of the Asian Badminton Championships take place at Qingdao in China.

In the men's singles there was just one match after Chinese badminton star Lin Dan quit his clash with team-mate Chen Jin following a wrist injury.

It was between two more players from China, Du Pengyu and Chen Long.

World number three Chen Long took the first set, only for Du Pengyu to upset his team-mate by taking the next two and sealing his place in the final.

There he'll face Chen Jin, who is currently ranked fifth in the world, but based on points collected during the Olympic period, he's actually at number four.

He needs to stay there or higher to ensure a place at the London 2012 Olympics.

As for the women, it was an all Chinese affair.

World No.1 Wang Yihan demonstrated good form to beat her team-mate and world number three Wang Shixian in straight sets.

In the other semi, dark horse Chen Xiaojia, who had already cruised past two of the world's top players at the championships, was finally stopped by world number four Li Xuerui.

It will be Li who will challenge Wang Yihan in the final on Sunday.
