The next big changes that Florentino is preparing

Despite Real Madrid being still alive in the race for both LaLiga Santander and the Champions League titles, Florentino Perez believes that Los Blancos are in need of a radical change this summer.

The Real Madrid president pushed for a new European Super League project the last few days, but reactions from fans, clubs and UEFA has brought the plan to a stall.

In a recent interview for the Spanish TV show Chiringuito, Perez stressed that things will change at the club in summer, with Los Blancos currently working on four fronts.

The Ramos case

Sergio Ramos has yet to reach an agreement with Real Madrid to renew his contract which runs until June and it is uncertain whether the two parties will strike a deal before summer.

The Real Madrid captain has already received the club's renewal offer, with Perez being confident that Los Blancos have taken steps in the right direction.

"I love [Ramos] very much, but we are in a very bad situation," Perez told Chiringuito.

"We have to be realistic."

As MARCA has already reported, the relationship between the two men is good, but far from idyllic for the time being.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have been dealt a hard blow due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but have already reached an agreement to sign David Alaba, who is leaving Bayern Munich this summer.

In the event Ramos departs the club, Raphael Varane could be Real Madrid's leader in defence next season, while Nacho Fernandez and Eder Militao have stepped up in the last few crucial games.

The Galactico signing

Perez is clear that Real Madrid need to sign a world-class player this summer and MARCA has learned that the club believe that acquiring the services of Kylian Mbappe is financially feasible.

Mbappe's contract ends in 2022 and the Frenchman has not agreed to renew his current deal with Paris Saint-Germain, who do not rule out selling him in summer to avoid losing him on free next year.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have also placed Erling Haaland on their radar. If fact, the Borussia Dortmund striker's agent Mino Raiola recently had a meeting with Real Madrid directors Jose Angel Sanchez and Juni Calafat in Valdebebas along with Haaland's father.

Real Madrid are working on signing both forwards, but they are aware that there are various potential suitors for both Haaland and Mbappe.

The coach

Zinedine Zidane has managed to keep Real Madrid alive in both the domestic tittle race and the Champions League despite their numerous injuries and struggles in the first stretch of the season.

Perez is fond of Zidane, but it is doubtful whether the Frenchman will stay at Los Blancos in the event they end the season without winning a single trophy.

Real Madrid are aware that it would be extremely hard to find another coach who could achieve what Zidane has managed across his two spells at the club.

Los Blancos are monitoring the market for available tacticians without ruling out promoting the Real Madrid Castilla coach Raul Gonzalez.

As for Zidane, the challenge to coach France is very intriguing, but Didier Deschamps' contract runs until after the 2022 World Cup, while Juventus could also be an option.

The club's sporting structure

In Perez's second tenure as Real Madrid's president there has been no figure who is clearly in charge of the team's football project.

Juni Calafat is the man whose duties are closest to those of a technical secretary, while former head of the academy and current general director deputy Ramos Martinez has always had a say as far as potential signings are concerned.

In the event Florentino decides to go for a radical change, it should not be ruled out that he will try to appoint a director who will be in charge of the club's sporting and transfer tasks.
