Manchester United receive boost in Haaland race

Alf Inge Haaland is reportedly trying to keep his son's options open when it comes to his next club, particularly in the event of him wanting to join Manchester United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are one of a number of clubs linked with a move for the Borussia Dortmund striker in recent months.

Solskjaer worked with Haaland junior briefly at Molde, while he played with Haaland senior at international level for Norway.

According to SportBible, Alf Inge Haaland, who used to play for United's rivals Manchester City, is keeping the line to Solskjaer and Old Trafford open and is refusing to rule out a transfer to the Red Devils.

Haaland senior still shares an excellent relationship with the United head coach, sending various smoke signals over a move to Manchester for his son in recent months.

"It's dangerous to sign for a coach because he can then be sacked," Alf Inge admitted to Sport1 not long ago.
