Brazil train ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Ecuador

  • Brazil trained in Porto Alegre on Wednesday (30th August) ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Ecuador.

Brazil have already booked their place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, but will want to maintain their momentum with a strong performance against Ecuador on Thursday (31st August).

Tite's men are nine points clear of second-placed Colombia with four games to play - and maintaining that lead with a win over Ecuador in Porto Alegre would almost certainly ensure that they head to Russia as the top team from their continent.

The Brazil team has seen a transformation since Tite took charge, winning eight straight qualifying games under his tutelage.

The head coach has all of his star players, including Neymar and captain Marcelo, available for the match.

Neymar will play in his first international since completing his world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain, while club team-mates Marquinhos, Thiago Silva and Daniel Alves are all hoping to start.
Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus is also expected to feature, but there is still no place in the squad for Chelsea defender David Luiz.

Barcelona's number one target Philippe Coutinho is included in the squad, despite being sidelined for nearly a month with an apparent back injury.

After playing Ecuador, Brazil will face Colombia in another qualifier in Barranquilla next week.
