  • Gent scored a dramatic late equaliser to salvage a 2-2 draw at Anderlecht in the Belgian First Division A on Sunday (28th August).

Both Anderlecht and Gent had recorded two wins and two draws in the Belgian First Division A going into their game on Sunday.

The visitors dominated early on with Moses Simon making inroads down the left and Brazilian midfielder Renato Neto being denied by the post.

Very much against the run of play the home side forced a penalty.

Renato Neto making the late challenge and Youri Tielemans stepped up to take an assured spot kick past the goalkeeper

Anderlecht were 1-0 up after 19 minutes.

But two minutes later it was 1-1 thanks to an audacious volley from Moses Simon.

The Nigerian international gave goalkeeper Davy Roef no chance.

Victory for either club would lift them to the top of the League, and Anderlecht were in the driving seat after Lucas Teodorczyk's cool finish in the 48th minute.

The Pole had been on the pitch for just two minutes.

It was his third league goal of the season.

Gent, though had been the better side, and they got their equaliser in the third minute of stoppage time.

It was a stunning volley from the Ghanaian Nana Asare.

At the final whistle it was Anderlecht 2 - Gent 2.
