  • Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew spoke on Friday (26th August) ahead of the visit of Bournemouth in the English Premier League.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Alan Pardew, Crystal Palace manager:

(On Crystal Palace rejecting a bid for Wilfred Zaha from Tottenham Hotspur):

"Well, Zaha said if he could see me and said he believed there was some interest from Tottenham Hotspur and may he go. I said I'll have to see what that bid is, Wilfred and I'll have to speak to the chairman. We didn't instigate the transfer, we never put his name out there as we did with Yannick Bolasie, I never put their names out there for transfer. So, I think the chairman's put the full stop on that deal and I think that's the right for us because we've made a lot of changes already and he was our player of the year last year and terrific and a fans favourite here. So, (we're) very keen to keep him."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Alan Pardew, Crystal Palace manager:

    (On their match against Bournemouth):

"No, I think that it's an important game for both clubs because we don't want to be rooted at the bottom with zero points after three games. But, we're going through changes to the team, to the squad because we want to put right the second half of our season last year. We are in the process of doing that, a bit slower than I would like, but that's the market I'm afraid
