  • Reaction from Carlos Brathwaite after the fourth Test bewteen the West Indies and India ended in draw and India won the series 2-0.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Carlos Brathwaite, the West Indies: (on being appointed West Indies T20 captain)

"I think a team like this will be pretty easy to lead from the point that the dressing room is a fun place to be. So I don't think it is a case where I have to negotiate too many egos and the guys enjoy each other's company. It is just a matter for me to go out there and do the things that I know I can do, firstly as a player and then as a captain. To continue to mould the team that have started to mould so efficiently and again, the most important thing is to get victories for the West Indies as a unit. Obviously with a new leader things might change bit by bit, just for me to keep adjusting. Then, just finding ways for us a team to continue to win. One thing - I don't want to get too deep into the psychology of changing leaders and stuff like that. I think all of the guys are mature enough and we have cases where some guys were captain and then they played the next series under a different captain. We are all professionals. We all know we have to go out there and do, and it is just a matter for us to go out there and win games for the West Indies. I hope that my leadership can influence that in some part. Even if it doesn't and we win the games - that is the most important thing."
